A wee bit about the Inverglen Scottish Dance School...

Sandra Crosby, the instructor of the Inverglen Scottish Dancers, founded the Dance School in 1980. The School has become world renowned in its proficiency of Ancient Highland, Ladies Step, Hard Shoe and Scottish Country Dancing. Their repertoire includes Ancient Highland Dances such as McKenzie of Seaforth, Scottish Country dances and step dances. Ms. Crosby adds to their performances novelty numbers and new choreographed works to many new Canadian and Scottish composers.

The dancers may study for their Highland Medal Tests, registered with the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance under the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing in Scotland. All dancers perform Highland, Scottish Country, Step and Hard Shoe dancing.

The Junior Dancers, ages 3-13 perform at hospitals, senior citizens homes and local charity events. The Senior Dancers ages 14-30 perform throughout BC and the Pacific Northwest at festivals and gala events. The Senior Dancers toured Great Britain in 1998. They represented Canada with performances at the White Rose Festival in York. The York Assembly Halls, Glamis Castle, Castle Fraser, Pitlochry Center and Blair Atholl Castle.

Ms. Crosby has a dance background in Highland, Scottish Country, Step and Hard Shoe dancing as well as Tap, Jazz and Ballet. She has studied locally in BC, at Les Ballet Jazz in Toronto and at St. Andrews University Scotland. Ms. Crosby has performed in Great Britain, Ireland, France, throughout Canada and the USA. Sandra has taught in Canada and Great Britain and in 2002 the Inverglen Scottish Dancers performed in Singapore and throughout Western Austrailia.
